RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0511 (Sponsored by: Honorable Bienvenido C. Culve) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO, IN HIS CONCURRING CAPACITY AS CHAIRMAN OF THE PAGADIAN CITY SCHOOL BOARD, TO IMMEDIATELY CONVENE THE PAGADIAN CITY SCHOOL BOARD PURPOSELY TO TAKE UP AND DISCUSS THE RECENT OCCURRENCE OF VIOLENT INCIDENTS IN VARIOUS SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY AND THE PROACTIVE MEASURES AND INTERVENTIONS NECESSARY TO PREVENT THE OCCURRENCE OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS IN THE CITY" WHEREAS, the occurrence of violent and disturbing incidents in various schools in the country has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and security of learners and school personnel, underscoring the urgent need for local government authorities and education stakeholders to strengthen preventive and responsive measures within schools and their surrounding communities; WHEREAS, it is the belief of this august body that prevention is best achieved through timely coordination, information-sharing, preparedness, and the collective participation of the City Government, the Department of Education, school administrators, parents, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders, thus the immediate convening of the Pagadian City School Board for the purpose is most appropriate; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Bienvenido C. Culve, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, in his concurring capacity as Chairman of the Pagadian City School Board, to immediately convene the Pagadian City School Board purposely to take up and discuss the recent occurrence of violent incidents in various schools in the country and the proactive measures and interventions necessary to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the city. RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, in his capacity as Chairman of the Local School Board, for his immediate favorable consideration.
