RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0493 (Sponsored by: Committee on Health and Social Services) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO EXECUTE AND SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH J. CABAHUG GENERAL HOSPITAL INCORPORATED, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PARTNERSHIP AND REFERRAL SYSTEM TO STRENGTHEN AND ENHANCE THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO PATIENTS" WHEREAS, the Pagadian City Infirmary (PCI), as a government healthcare facility established and operated by the City Government of Pagadian, is committed to ensure the provision of accessible and quality healthcare services to its constituents, however, due to its limited scope of services as prescribed under the Department of Health (DOH) standards for an infirmary, there is a need to establish appropriate referral arrangements and partnerships with other qualified healthcare providers and facilities for patients whose medical needs cannot be adequately accommodated by the Infirmary; WHEREAS, in relation thereto, the City Government of Pagadian, through the Pagadian City Infirmary (PCI), and J. Cabahug General Hospital Incorporated, have signified their mutual intent to establish a healthcare partnership and referral system whereby J. Cabahug General Hospital shall serve as a referral and support facility, for patients whose medical needs cannot be adequately accommodated by the Infirmary, consistent with applicable Department of Health (DOH) standards and requirements, such that the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement is necessary, thus a request for authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, this body, upon careful perusal and evaluation through the concerned Committee, to which the foregoing matter was initially referred, finds it imperative to clothe the City Chief Executive with the necessary authority to enter and sign the said MOA; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to execute and sign, for and on behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with J. Cabahug General Hospital Incorporated, for the establishment of a partnership and referral system to strengthen and enhance the delivery of quality health care services to patients. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and to Dr. Liz Corazon C. Parangan, Medical Director, J. Cabahug General Hospital Incorporated, all of this city, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
