RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0334 (Sponsored by: Honorable Bienvenido C. Culve) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE PAGADIAN CITY ROAD CLEARING TEAM TO IMMEDIATELY CONDUCT A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION AND INSPECTION OF THE ALLEGED ENCROACHMENT/OBSTRUCTION OF THE SIDEWALK AND/OR ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY INCLUDING THE ACCESSIBILITY AND AVAILABILITY OF AN EXISTING FIRE HYDRANT ALONG THE CORNER OF CANUTO M.S. ENERIO STREET (FORMERLY R.T. LIM STREET) AND J.P. RIZAL AVENUE, THIS CITY, AND, IF WARRANTED, CAUSE ITS IMMEDIATE DEMOLITION" WHEREAS, observation has it that an alleged business establishment located at the corner of Canuto M.S. Enerio (formerly R.T. Lim Street) and J.P. Rizal Avenue has encroached portions of the sidewalk and/or road right-of-way for use in the display and storage of its merchandise that is apparently caused obstruction to pedestrian pathways as well as it blocked an existing fire hydrant thereat which may impede the availability and accessibility of the same during fire emergencies; WHEREAS, while the City recognizes and supports local businesses as vital contributors to economic activity, such operations must be conducted in a manner that promotes public safety, accessibility and does not, in any way, obstruct the comfort and convenience of the general populace, hence, commission the Pagadian City Road Clearing Team to promptly inspect and verify the situation on-site and ensure that appropriate measures are undertaken in accordance with applicable regulations; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Bienvenido C. Culve, be it; RESOLVED to request, as it is hereby requested the Honorable City Mayor to direct the Pagadian City Road Clearing Team to immediately conduct a thorough investigation ad inspection of the alleged encroachment/obstruction of the sidewalk and/or road right-of-way including the accessibility and availability of an existing fire hydrant along the corner of Canuto M.S. Enerio Street (formerly R.T. Lim Street) and J.P. Rizal Avenue, this City, and, if warranted, cause its immediate demolition. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and immediate favorable action; and to the Head, Pagadian City Road Clearing Team, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
