RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0331 (Sponsored by: Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob) "A RESOLUTION FORMALLY ENDORSING COPIES OF CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2019-434, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE SELLING AND DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR AND OTHER INTOXICATING BEVERAGES IN ALL PUBLIC PLAZAS, PARKS, ROADS, SIDEWALKS AND ALLEYS WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF PAGADIAN AND PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF," TO THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (DILG)-PAGADIAN CITY LOCAL GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS OFFICER, THE PAGADIAN CITY POLICE STATION AND ALL 54 BARANGAYS THROUGH THE LIGA NG MGA BARANGAY-PAGADIAN CITY CHAPTER, FOR THEIR INFORMATION, GUIDANCE AND STRICT IMPLEMENTATION" WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, after finding that public plazas, parks, roads, sidewalks and alleys of the City are being used as venue for liquor drinking sessions and sprees which are not only unsightly and offensive against public decency but, in some cases, instigate altercations, enacted City Ordinance No. 2019-434, entitled: "As Ordinance Prohibiting the Selling and Drinking of Alcoholic Liquor and Other Intoxicating Beverages in all Public Plazas, Parks, Roads, Sidewalks and Alleys within the Territorial Jurisdiction of the City of Pagadian and Providing Penalty for Violation Thereof;" WHEREAS, in view of the recent public pronouncement of the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the strictly enforcement of the prohibition of drinking alcoholic liquors and other intoxicating beverages in all public places, there is a compelling necessity to provide copies to all concerned stakeholders for their guidance and immediate implementation; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob, be it RESOLVED to formally endorse, as this body hereby formally endorses copies of City Ordinance No. 2019-434, entitled: "As Ordinance Prohibiting the Selling and Drinking of Alcoholic Liquor and Other Intoxicating Beverages in all Public Plazas, Parks, Roads, Sidewalks and Alleys within the Territorial Jurisdiction of the City of Pagadian and Providing Penalty for Violation Thereof," to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Pagadian City Local Government Operations Officer, the Pagadian City Police Station and all Fifty-Four (54) Barangays through the Liga ng mga Barangay-Pagadian City Chapter, for their information, guidance and strict implementation. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the DILG-City Local Government Operations Officer, Mrs. Maribel S. Estoquia; the Pagadian City Police Station through the Chief of Police, and all fifty-four (54) barangay of the city through the Liga ng mga Barangay-Pagadian City Chapter, for information and appropriate action; and to the Honorable City Mayor, for support.
