RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0324 (Co-Sponsored by: Committee on Health and Social Service and Committee on Disaster/Calamity Resilience and Management) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A RELIEF PREPOSITIONING AGREEMENT (RPA) WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD)-REGIONAL OFFICE IX, IN RELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PREPOSITIONING OF RELIEF GOODS FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE DURING DISASTERS AND CALAMITIES" WHEREAS, consistent with their mandate, the City Government of Pagadian and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Regional Field Office IX, have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of programs and initiatives for the prepositioning and timely delivery of relief assistance to affected residents of the City of Pagadian during disasters and calamities; WHEREAS, to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the program, the formal forging of a Relief Prepositioning Agreement (RPA) by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Regional Office IX, where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified is necessary, such that the Honorable City Mayor has sought for authority to enter into such deed-which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body, with a proviso that the City Social Welfare and Development Office shall submit a project proposal on disaster preparedness and mitigation activities to the concerned Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Relief Prepositioning Agreement (RPA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Regional Office IX, in relation to the strategic prepositioning of relief goods for the exclusive use during disasters and calamities. RESOLVED FURTHER, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) shall submit a project proposal on disaster preparedness and mitigation activities as a condition precedent to the implementation thereof. RESOLVED FINALLY, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; the City Social Welfare and Development Officer, and to Regional Director Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, DSWD-Regional Field Office 9, all of this city, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
