RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0262 (Co-Sponsored by: Committee on Health and Social Services and Committee on Laws, Rules and Policy Formulation) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD)-REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE "WALANG GUTOM 2027" FOOD STAMP PROGRAM, COVERING A TOTAL OF 623 DULY IDENTIFIED AND QUALIFIED BENEFICIARIES" WHEREAS, in line with the national strategy against hunger pursuant to Executive Order No. 44, s. 2023, which established the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program, to provide food assistance to indigent families and individuals duly identified and qualified as beneficiaries, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), as the lead implementing agency, and the City Government of Pagadian have mutually agreed to collaboratively pursue the implementation of the foregoing program in the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the program, there is thus a need for the formal forging of Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Regional Office IX, where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, such that the Honorable City Mayor has sought for authority to enter into such deed-which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Hon. Ariel J. Lim, Jr. be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Regional Office IX, for the implementation of the "Walang Gutom 2027" Food Stamp Program, covering a total of 623 duly identified and qualified beneficiaries. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; the City Social Welfare and Development Officer, and to Regional Director Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, DSWD-Regional Field Office 9, all of this city, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
