RESOLUTION NO. 2026-0253 (Sponsored by: Committee on Police, Fire, Public Safety and Illegal Drug Prevention) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO GRANT MONETARY REWARD/AWARD TO THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE PHILIPPINE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (PDEA), ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR PROVINCIAL OFFICE, IN THE AMOUNT OF SIXTY THOUSAND (P60,000.00) PESOS-(P30,000.00) FOR EACH AND EVERY MERITORIOUS AND SUCCESSFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT WHICH RESULTED IN THE APPREHENSION OF DRUG PERSONALITIES IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, information revealed that personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office, in collaboration with the PDEA-RO 9 Regional Special Enforcement Team, the Pagadian City Police Station, the Provincial Intelligence Unit-ZDSPPO and the ZDS Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, through relentless effort and strategic police operations, had successfully conducted anti-illegal drugs operations which resulted in the apprehension of suspected drug dealers, as herein cited: On or about 12:55 p.m. of March 6, 2025, the team, while conducting anti-illegal drug campaign at Gaisano Parking Lot, Barangay San Pedro, this city, had successfully seized and confiscated at least 526.2995 grams of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride also known as "shabu" with a total market value of P3,578,836.60 and apprehended two (2) suspected drug dealers in the persons of Jessie Pada y Damolo alias "Bagcio" and his cohort Sanny Boy Fontanilla y Armosi; and On April 23, 2025, while the office conducted anti-illegal drugs operation, three (3) unnamed drug personalities were apprehended which resulted to the confiscation of a total of 342.839 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride also known as "shabu" with a total market value of P2,331,270.52. WHEREAS, consistent with the provisions of Republic Act No. 8551 otherwise known as the "Philippine National Police Reform and Reorganization Act of 1998," which provides for the recognition and the granting of monetary rewards to police personnel who, in the performance of their official duties, have exhibited meritorious acts, the Honorable City Mayor, through a letter, has sought authority from the Sangguniang Panlungsod to extend monetary reward in the total amount of P60,000.00--P30,000.00 for each successful operation; WHEREAS, this body, taking into due consideration the favorable recommendation of the concerned Committee, to which the foregoing matter was initially referred, and finding no legal impediment thereto, deems it imperatively necessary to vest the Honorable City Mayor with the authority to grant the said monetary reward, chargeable against any available funds of the City Government of Pagadian; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to grant monetary reward/award to the officers and men of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office in the amount of Sixty Thousand (P60,000.00) Pesos-P30,000.00 for each and every meritorious and successful accomplishment which resulted in the apprehension of drug personalities in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co; the City Budget Officer; the City Accountant; the City Treasurer; the City Auditor; and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office, through Provincial Officer Agent Cesario C. Judilla, Jr., for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
