"A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE FOR THE RENEWAL OF LOCAL BUSINESS/MAYOR'S PERMIT AND THE PAYMENT OF LOCAL BUSINESS TAX FROM JANUARY 20, 2026 TO MARCH 06, 2026 WITHOUT INCURRING ANY PENALTIES OR SURCHARGES THEREOF"

WHEREAS, the Pagadian-ZDS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Incorporated--aware of the mandate under Section 3A. 02 of Chapter 3 Article A of the Pagadian City Revised Revenue Code of 2023 which provides that Mayor's/Business Permit shall be renewed within the first twenty (20) days of January--passed Board Resolution No. 2001-03, s. 2026, which in gist, requested the City Government to grant an extension of the deadline for the renewal of local business permits from January 20, 2026 to March 31, 2026;

WHEREAS, after careful evaluation of the appeal of the Office of the City Treasurer and the recommendations of the Committees-to which the matter was referred-subsequently underscored the need to strike a balance between extending relief to business owners and ensuring the timely collection of local taxes indispensable to the continuous delivery of essential public services;

 WHEREAS, this body, consistent with Article 255 of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the Local Government Code of 1991 which authorized the Sangguniang Panlungsod, for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time for payment of such taxes, fees or charges without surcharges or penalties for a period not exceeding six (6) months, deems it rational and reasonable to extend the renewal and payment of local business/mayor's permits to March 6, 2026 without any penalty or surcharges; 

 NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ann Marjorie N. Revelo, be it

RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the extension of the deadline for the renewal of Local Business/Mayor's Permits and the payment of Local Business Tax from January 20, 2026 to March 6, 2026 without incurring any penalties or surcharges thereof. 

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information; to the Acting City Treasurer, Ms. Aileen S. Sarcina; the Chief-City Permits and Licensing Division, Office of the City Mayor; the City Auditor, and to Ms. Hazel J. Lu, PZCCIFI President, for their reference, guidance and/or appropriate action.
