RESOLUTION NO. 2025-1069 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Trade and Industry & Economic Enterprise & Cooperative, Committee on Health and Social Services and Committee on Laws, Rules and Policy Formulation) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE FOOD AND DRUGS ADMINISTRATION (FDA), REPRESENTED BY ITS DIRECTOR GENERAL, DR. SAMUEL A. ZACATE, WITH REFERENCE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF FDA ACT OF 2009, FOOD SAFETY ACT OF 2013 AND THE EASE OF DOING BUSINESS AND EFFICIENT GOVERNMENT SERVICE DELIVERY ACT OF 2018" WHEREAS, consistent with its mandate under Republic Act No. 9711 and in view of the conceptualization and launching of the "Bigyan-Halaga, Bangon MSMEs (BBMSMES)," the Food and Drug Administration and the City Government of Pagadian have mutually agreed to undertake a whole of government approach and carry out the need to promote, support, strengthen and encourage the growth and development of MSMEs in City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the foregoing project, there is thus a need for the formal forging of Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Food and Drug Administration, through its Director General, where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, such that the Honorable City Mayor has sought for authority to enter into such deed-which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), represented by its Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate with reference to the implementation of provisions of FDA Act of 2009, Food Safety Act of 2013 and the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018." RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; the Food and Drug Administration thru its Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, with office address at Civic Drive, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang, City of Muntinlupa, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
