RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0983 (Sponsor: Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE-BUREAU OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES (BFAR) REGIONAL OFFICE IX AND THE SAN PEDRO FISHERMEN MULTI-PURPOSE ASSOCIATION, RELATIVE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AQUACULTURE AND MARICULTURE EXPANSION AND INVIGORATION PROJECT (AMEIP) THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FISH CAGES IN THE MARICULTURE AND AQUACULTURE PARK AREAS FOR FISH PRODUCTION" WHEREAS, in line with the provisions of Republic Act No. 8435, otherwise known as the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act of 1997, the Department of Agriculture through its Regional Field Office IX and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of Aquaculture and Mariculture Expansion and Invigoration Project (AMEIP) through the establishment of fish cages in the mariculture and aquaculture park areas for fish production in the City of Pagadian where the San Pedro Fishermen Multi-Purpose Association was chosen as the beneficiary thereof; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of the foregoing program, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and among the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Regional Office IX, the City Government of Pagadian and the San Pedro Fishermen Multi-Purpose Association, where the duties and responsibilities of the parties concerned are stipulated, such that a request for authority to enter and sign the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor--which requests, upon careful perusal, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Office IX and the San Pedro Fishermen Multi-Purpose Association, relative to the implementation of Aquaculture and Mariculture Expansion and Invigoration Project (AMEIP) through the establishment of fish cages in the mariculture and aquaculture park areas for fish production. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; to the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources through Regional Director Al-Zath K. Kunting, RFP, R.T Lim Boulevard, Zamboanga City; and to the San Pedro Fishermen Multi-Purpose Association through its President, Mr. Aldam S.
