RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0105 (Sponsored by: Honorable Ann Marjorie N. Revelo) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION & MANAGEMENT OFFICER (CDRRMO), THROUGH THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR, TO COORDINATE WITH ALL CONCERNED NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES FOR THE HEIGHTENED CONDUCT OF EARTHQUAKE DRILLS IN ALL PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, the recent series of earthquake occurrences in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have raised public concern over the readiness and preparedness of the city, particularly in educational institutions, in responding to such natural calamities, thereby underscoring the necessity to strengthen disaster preparedness in schools and ensure that both teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as students, are well-informed and adequately trained on appropriate safety protocols during earthquakes; WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the "Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010," the conduct of regular and coordinated earthquake drills fosters disaster resilience among the youth, with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) spearheading, in coordination with all concerned national and local agencies, to ensure an effective implementation of such preparedness programs in schools, hence, this request; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ann Marjorie N. Revelo, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as this body hereby earnestly requests the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer (CDRRMO), through the Honorable City Mayor, to coordinate with all concerned national and local government agencies for the heightened conduct of earthquake drills in all primary and secondary educational institutions within in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable City Mayor, for appropriate action; the Head-City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office; the City Schools Division Superintendent-Pagadian City Schools Division Office; the City Fire Marshall, Bureau of Fire Protection; the Chief of Police, Pagadian City Police Station; the Regional Director-Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Regional Office IX; the City Local Government Operations Officer, City DILG; and all other offices concern, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
