RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0101 (Sponsored by: Committee on Health and Social Services) "A RESOLUTION STRONGLY SUPPORTING AND CONCURRING WITH THE INTENTION OF THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH-ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA-CENTER FOR HEALTH DEVELOPMENT, REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OF ADDITIONAL THREE (3) DOCTORS TO THE BARRIOS (DTTB) UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH'S DEPLOYMENT PROGRAM, TO THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN CITY" WHEREAS, in line with its thrust and commitment to strengthen the delivery of primary health care services in the city particularly in the underserved and geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA), the Honorable City Mayor, by way of a letter, has formally requested the Department of Health for the assignment or deployment of additional three (3) Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB), under the Department of Health's Deployment Program; WHEREAS, to hasten the processing and approval of the foregoing request, a support resolution from this august body is being required, such that--this body, taking into account the favorable recommendation of the concerned Committee, to which the matter was initially referred, and considering the city government's current physician-to-population ratio which falls significantly short of the World Health Organization standard, deems it imperatively necessary to concur with the intention and desire of the City Chief Executive; NOW THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to strongly support and concur, as this body hereby strongly supports and concurs with the intention of the Honorable City Mayor to request the Department of Health-Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development, Regional Office IX, for the assignment of additional three (3) Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) under the Department of Health's Deployment Program, to the City Health Office of Pagadian City. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Dr. Lenny Joy Johnson-Rivera, MD, MDM, CESO IV, OIC Regional Director, DOH-Center for Health Development-Zamboanga Peninsula, Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City, for information & favorable action; to the Honorable City Mayor and the City Health Officer, for follow-up.
