RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0012 (Sponsor: Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr.) "A RESOLUTION INVITING THE CITY SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, THROUGH THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR, TO ATTEND THE 3rd REGULAR SESSION OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD ON 16 JULY 2025 AT 9:00 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, AT THE SP SESSION HALL, 4TH FLOOR, CITY COMMERCIAL CENTER (C3), TO PROVIDE THE BODY WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE HIGHLY PUBLICIZED RIOT INCIDENT INVOLVING GROUPS OF YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WHICH TOOK PLACE AT SAN FRANCISCO DISTRICT, THIS CITY" WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod is deeply concerned over the reported riot incident involving groups of young individuals that transpired on June 14, 2025, in one of the business establishments located at Barangay San Francisco, Pagadian City; WHEREAS, the incident, which has gained widespread attention through social media and reportedly resulted in physical injuries and damage to property, has raised serious concerns on peace and order-particularly among the youth sector-this body deems it important to have the presence of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO), to gather relevant data and insights, in line with the office's mandate to implement social protection and development programs, especially those concerning minors-which will aid the Sangguniang Panlungsod in crafting responsive and appropriate legislative measures to address the underlying social issues and prevent similar incident in the future; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it; RESOLVED to invite, as this body hereby invites the City Social Welfare and Development Officer, through the Honorable City Mayor, to attend the 3rd Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on 16 July 2025 at 9:00 o'clock in the morning, at the SP Session Hall, 4TH Floor, City Commercial Center (C3), to provide the body with information regarding the highly publicized riot incident involving groups of young individuals which took place at San Francisco District, this city. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable City Mayor and Ms. Evangeline Poquita, City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO), for consideration and appropriate action.
