RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0009

"A RESOLUTION NAMING AND DESIGNATING HONORABLE MAPHILINDO Q. OBAOB AS THE OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD TO THE PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN CITY, PURSUANT TO THE RELEVANT PROVISIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7160, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF 1991"
WHEREAS, Section 116 of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides for the establishment of a Peace and Order Council in every local government unit, to ensure effective coordination among various government agencies and sectors in maintaining peace and order in the locality;
WHEREAS, in relation thereto, Executive Order No. 309, series of 1988, provides for the Sangguniang Panlungsod to have one (1) representative in the said council to be chosen from among the SP Members to ensure that legislative insights and policy directions are effectively communicated and integrated in the formulation of strategies purposely to promote peace and public safety of the city;
WHEREAS, Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob, a duly elected member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee on Police, Fire and Public Safety, has expressed his sincere willingness to serve as the legislative body's representative to the Peace and Order Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob, be it
RESOLVED to name and designate, as this body hereby names and designates Honorable Maphilindo Q. Obaob as the official representative of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to the Peace and Order Council of Pagadian City, pursuant to the relevant provisions of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the "Local Government Code of 1991."
RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, in his concurring capacity as the Chairperson of the Peace and Order Council; and all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
