Fernandez) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL NUTRITION COUNCIL FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BARANGAY NUTRITION SCHOLAR (BNS) PROGRAMS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN WHICH SHALL INCLUDE THE PROVISION OF TRAINING STIPEND, KIT AND TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE" WHEREAS, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 491 and Executive Order No. 234, the National Nutrition Council is vested with the function, authority, and power to formulate, supervise, coordinate and evaluate all integrated nutrition policies, programs, and projects in the Philippines; likewise, PD No. 1569 also mandated the Council to administer and formulate rules and regulations for the implementation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Programs, providing one (1) BNS for every barangay with the aim of strengthening the delivery of basic nutrition and health services in the communities; WHEREAS, given this, the National Nutrition Council and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of such program by providing training stipend, kit and travelling allowance to each and every BNS in the city, such that the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement where the duties and responsibilities of the concerned parties have been specified is necessary; WHEREAS, in view thereof, the Honorable City Mayor has sought for authority to enter into such deed, which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Nutrition Council for the implementation of Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Programs in the City of Pagadian which shall include the provision of training stipend, kit and travelling allowance. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and to the National Nutrition Council through Asec and Executive Director IV Azucena M. Dayanghirang, at Nutrition Building 2332 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Barangay Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
