"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT (DOLE), REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (GIP)"
WHEREAS, consistent with its mandate to implement program beneficial to the poor/indigent by providing opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service with the ultimate objective of attracting the best and brightest who want to pursue a career in government service particularly in the fields and disciplines related to labor and employment, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Regional Office IX have agreed to collaborate with the City Government of Pagadian for the successful implementation of the said program and achieve their desired social outcome; 
WHEREAS, in relation thereto, there is thus a need for the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office 9 and the City Government of Pagadian where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified--such that an authority to enter into such deed has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor, which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; 
NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ma. Alicia Elena V. Ariosa, be it
RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Regional Office IX, for the implementation of the Government Internship Program (GIP). 
RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable action; to the City Legal Officer; and to Regional Director Albert E. Gutib, (DOLE), Regional Office IX, Vitaliano Agan Avenue Ext., Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
