RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0801 (Co-Sponsor: Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development and Committee on Health and Social Services) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO UNDERTAKE REHABILITATION OF THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM ALONG DATOC STREET, STA. LUCIA DISTRICT, THIS CITY, SPECIFICALLY IN THE VICINITY ADJACENT TO THE INTEGRATED BUS TERMINAL-ANNEX (IBT-2), AND TO ESTABLISH/CONSTRUCT A WATER EXIT POINT AS A MEASURE TO MITIGATE, IF NOT PREVENT, FLOODING IN THE AREA" WHEREAS, certain sections of Datoc Street, Sta. Lucia District, this City, are usually submerged under flood waters during heavy rains more particularly in sections adjacent to or along the Integrated Bus Terminal-Annex (IBT-2); WHEREAS, it has been observed that the drainage system in the referred area where the problem of flooding exist is currently inadequate to accommodate the volume of rain water passing through which resulted to overflow causing the frequent flooding in the area; WHEREAS, this body, in support of the recommendation of the concerned Committees, to which the matter was referred, finds it in order to request the City Chief Executive to direct the City Engineer to urgently undertake necessary rehabilitation works of the drainage system in the afore-mentioned area as well as establish/construct a water exit point purposely to mitigate, if not prevent, the occurrence of flooding; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Engineer to undertake rehabilitation of the drainage system along Datoc Street, Sta. Lucia District, this city, specifically in the vicinity adjacent to the Integrated Bus Terminal-Annex (IBT-2), and to establish/construct a water exit point as a measure to mitigate, if not prevent, flooding in the area. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable action; and to Engr. Gerry D.
