RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0799 (Co-Sponsor: Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development and Committee on Health and Social Services) A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER PURPOSELY TO PERSUADE AND/OR ADVICE THE CONTRACTOR OF THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM PROJECT SITUATED AT PUROK MAKABIBIHAG I-II, PARTICULARLY FRONTING GATES 7, 8, AND 9 OF THE AGORA MARKET, STA. LUCIA DISTRICT, THIS CITY, TO EXPEDITE THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF THE SAID PROJECT" WHEREAS, information has it that the drainage system project situated at Purok Makabibihag I-II, particularly fronting gates 7, 8 and 9 of the Agora Market in Barangay Sta. Lucia, this city, is about 80% completed per observation, during ocular inspection, of the Chairman of the SP Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding & Community; WHEREAS, while the foregoing project has been scheduled for completion 120 days from date of commencement of the project, December 2023, however, due to the delay of work for reasons only known to the contractor, it is safe to surmise that the said project cannot be completed as scheduled, such that there is thus a need for the City Engineer having the supervision of the said project to persuade, if not direct, the contractor to expedite the construction and completion of the same; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to request, as it is hereby requested the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Engineer to persuade and/or advice the contractor of the drainage system project situated at Purok Makabibihag I-II, particularly fronting Gates 7, 8, and 9 of the Agora Market, Sta. Lucia District, this city, to expedite the construction and completion of the said project. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable action; and to Engr. Gerry D. Nebria, City Engineer, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
