RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0767 (Sponsor: Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO ADDRESS THE PERENNIAL PROBLEM OF FLOODING IN BARANGAY STA. LUCIA PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNER OF SALERA STREET, THIS CITY, AND TO INSTITUTE REGULAR MITIGATION/MAINTENANCE MEASURES TO KEEP THESE DRAINAGE SYSTEM FREE FROM OBSTRUCTION" WHEREAS, attention of this august body was invited over the perennial problem of overflowing water in Barangay Santa Lucia, as enunciated in its Resolution No. 40, s. 2024, most particularly at the corner of Salera Street, causing significant inconvenience to the public as well as adversely affecting local business operations and posing risks to motorists passing through the area; WHEREAS, in order to remedy the foregoing situation, this body, following the recommendation of the concerned Committee-to which the foregoing matter was initially referred-finds the need to urgently institute technical engineering measures to rectify the situation by instituting regular maintenance including periodic cleaning and prompt removal of obstruction to allow free-flowing of water and to prevent the recurrence of flooding thereat; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Engineer to address the perennial problem of flooding in Barangay Sta. Lucia particularly at the corner of Salera Street, this city, and to institute regular mitigation/maintenance measures to keep this drainage system free from obstruction. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; and to the City Engineer, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
