RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0713 (Sponsor: Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation, Communications & Franchising) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ASSIGN AND/OR DETAIL ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL IN THE ROAD AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OFFICE, UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR, TO COMPLEMENT AND AUGMENT THE SERVICES OF THE OFFICE WITH REFERENCE TO TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND ANTI-COLORUM OPERATIONS IN THE CITY" WHEREAS, the worsening traffic condition and the apparent widespread traffic violations along the major thoroughfares of the city has caused this august body to be concerned and alarmed which, observably, is perceived to be attributed to the lack of traffic enforcers who shall manage the flow of traffic and apprehend and/or prevent the illegal operation of motorized tricycle-for-hire or the so-called colorum in the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, currently, information has it that the Road and Traffic Management Office-which is tasked to manage the traffic of the city's road network-is understaffed and could not cope up with the demands and scope of the office workloads; WHEREAS, given such predicament, there is thus an urgent need to address the same by assigning additional personnel to the said office, hence, requesting the Honorable City Mayor for the purpose is most appropriate at this prevailing circumstances; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Monique Shaira Y. To, be it RESOLVED, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Honorable City Mayor to assign and/or detail additional personnel in the Road and Traffic Management Office, under the Office of the City Mayor, to complement and augment the services of the office with reference to traffic management and anti-colorum operations in the city. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
