RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0613 (Sponsor: Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD), THROUGH ITS REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIAL PENSION FOR INDIGENT SENIOR CITIZENS (SPISC) IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, in line with the provisions of Republic Act No. 9994 otherwise known as "Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010" more particularly on the provision of Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPSC), the Department Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the expeditious delivery of the foregoing assistance to all qualified senior citizens of the city; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of the foregoing endeavor, there is thus a need for the formal forging of Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the DSWD where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, such that the Honorable City Mayor has sought for authority to enter into such deed-which request, upon careful perusal and evaluation, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Regional Office IX, for the implementation of Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC) in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and to Regional Director Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, DSWD-Regional Office 9, General Vicente Alvarez St., Zamboanga City, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
