RESOLUTION NO. 2024-0607 (Sponsor: Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr.) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT (DOLE)-REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TULONG PANGHANAPBUHAY SA ATING DISPLACED/DISADVANTAGED WORKERS (TUPAD) PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has implemented the Emergency Employment Program under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) Workers Program which aims to provide temporary wage employment to the displaced and unemployed poor as a result of economic disruption and/or occurrence of natural disasters and calamities for a period of ten (10) days; WHEREAS, in relation thereto, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office IX and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of such program in the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful implementation of the foregoing program, there is thus a need for the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement, where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, for which a request has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor that he be accorded the necessary authority to enter into such deed, which request merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office IX, for the implementation of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and Regional Director Albert E. Gutib, DOLE, Regional Office 9, 3rd Floor, Cortez Bldg., Dr. Evangelista St., Sta.
