RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0549 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION STRONGLY CONDEMNING THE GRUESOME AND RUTHLESS KILLING OF BARANGAY CHAIRMAN-ELECT ROFOLDO "LOLONG" FUERTES DACOL OF BARANGAY LAPEDIAN, THIS CITY, AND CALLING ALL CONCERNED GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO COLLABORATE AND INSTITUTE APPROPRIATE ACTION FOR THE IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION OF THE CASE" WHEREAS, official report revealed that on 08 November, 2023, the newly elected Punong Barangay of Lapedian, this city, Honorable Rofoldo "Lolong" Fuertes Dacol, was treacherously shot to death upon his arrival onboard his motorized tricycle (bao-bao) along the road fronting the house of Mr. Romulo Wenceslao of the same barangay by still unidentified assailants; WHEREAS, such brutal and dreadful incident which senselessly took the life of an innocent and dedicated public servant is a clearly premeditated and deliberate act which could have severe effects to the already volatile peace and order situation of the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, the murder of Barangay Chairman-Elect Rofoldo "Lolong" Fuertes Dacol is not the first of its kind but the latest victim in the spate of killings committed against election candidates and/or barangay officials within the city; WHEREAS, such dastardly and cowardly act of these assassins is deplorable and reprehensible and by all means should be condemned in the highest terms and must be resolved as soon as possible in the interest of justice; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to strongly condemn, as this body hereby strongly condemns the gruesome and ruthless killing of Barangay Chairman-Elect Rofoldo "Lolong" Fuertes Dacol of Barangay Lapedian, this city, and calling all concerned government agencies to collaborate and institute appropriate action for the immediate resolution of the case. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Provincial Director, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office; to the City Director, Pagadian City Police Office; the Head-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office; and the Head-National Bureau of Investigation, Zamboanga del Sur District Office, all of this City, for their consideration and immediate appropriate action; and to the Honorable City Mayor, for information, support and follow-up.
