RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0469 (Sponsor: Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr.) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER AND SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE BUREAU OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES (BFAR)-REGIONAL OFFICE 9 AND THE FISHERFOLK ASSOCIATION BENEFICIARY, WITH REFERENCE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NORWEGIAN FISH CAGE TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, consistent with the national government's thrust for food security as well as the desire to help uplift the socio-economic condition and create employment for local fisherfolks, the City Government of Pagadian in collaboration with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Regional Office 9, have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation and provision of technology demonstration and training on marine fish cage operation with the end in view of increasing the bangus supply in the city; WHEREAS, to hasten the pursuance of the foregoing project, there is thus a need for the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and among the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Regional Office 9, the City Government of Pagadian and the Fisherfolk Association Beneficiaries--where the duties, responsibilities and obligations of the concerned parties were stipulated, such that the Honorable City Mayor sought for authority to enter into such deed, which request merited the support and concurrence of this body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter and sign, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, the Memorandum of Agreement with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Regional Office 9 and the Fisherfolk Association Beneficiary, with reference to the implementation of the Norwegian Fish Cage Technology Demonstration Project in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable City Mayor, for his appropriate action; to Regional Director, Al-Zath K. Kunting, RFP, BFAR-Regional Office 9, R.T. Lim Blvd., Zamboanga City; to the City Legal Officer and all others concerned, for their information and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
