RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0441 (Sponsor: Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr.) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION WITH THE MEGA LIFTERS CARGO HANDLING CORPORATION, WITH REFERENCE TO THE OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE PAGADIAN CITY PORT " WHEREAS, in an effort to further advance the socio-economic development of the City of Pagadian, the City Government of Pagadian and the Megal Lifters Cargo Handling Corporation-being awarded by the Philippine Ports Authority to manage the operation of cargo handling and Ron-On Roll-Off (Ro-Ro) services of the Pagadian City Sea Port-as well as other concerned national agencies have agreed to concertedly pursue the operationalization of the Pagadian City Port; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of the foregoing endeavor, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Cooperation by and between the above-mentioned parties is deemed necessary where the duties and responsibilities of the parties are specified, such that a request for authority to enter into the same is being sought by the City Chief Executive--which request merited the support and concurrence of this august this body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to sign, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Mega Lifters Cargo Handling Corporation, with reference to the operationalization of the Pagadian City Port. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his reference and appropriate action; to the City Legal Officer; to Raymond H. Alarcon, General Manager, Mega Lifters Cargo Handling Corporation; and all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
