RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0425 (Sponsor: Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr.) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE DONATION OF ONE (1) UNIT RICE COMBINE HARVESTER BY THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE-PHILIPPINE CENTER FOR POSTHARVEST DEVELOPMENT AND MECHANIZATION (PHILMECH), IN FAVOR OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, AND TO SIGN THE DEED OF DONATION FOR THE RELEASE OF THE SAME" WHEREAS, consistent with Section 13(a) of Republic Act No. 11203 otherwise known as the "Rice Tariffication Act," the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH) is providing farm machinery and equipment to enable small farmers to improve their productivity through appropriate and efficient mechanization technologies; WHEREAS, in relation thereto, the City Government of Pagadian is a recipient of one (1) unit Rice Combine Harvester and, for the purpose, a Deed of Donation is to be executed by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH) in favor of the City Government--for which an authority to accept and sign the foregoing deed has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, after careful perusal and evaluation, this Sanggunian, finding the request to be more beneficial and advantageous for the people of Pagadian, deems it appropriate and reasonable to clothe the Honorable City Mayor with the necessary authority; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesus B. Bajamunde, Jr., be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to accept the donation of one (1) unit Rice Combine Harvester by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH), in favor of the City Government of Pagadian, and to sign the Deed of Donation for the release of the same. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and to Director Dionisio G. Alvindia, Ph.D., Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, CLSU Compound, Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija, and all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and reference.
