RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0409 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Planning and Landed Estates and Committee on Finance and Appropriations) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND PURCHASE, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, PARCELS OF LAND KNOWN AS PORTION OF LOT NO. 4596-A, OWNED BY MR. EMELIANO BALILI, CONTAINING AN AREA OF 34,990 SQUARE METERS AND PORTION OF LOT NO. 2 (BEFORE LOT NO. 4599), OWNED BY MR. ROMAN ESCALANTE, CONTAINING AN AREA OF 47,372 SQUARE METERS, BOTH SITUATED AT BARANGAY GUBANG, THIS CITY, FOR USE AS ACCESS ROAD LEADING TO THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S HOUSING AND RESETTLEMENT PROJECT AT BARANGAY GUBANG, THIS CITY" WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, consistent with its thrust and commitment to provide housing and resettlement area for the benefit of the locally displaced and homeless residents of the city, had purchased, by authority of this Sanggunian, an appropriate parcel of land in Barangay Gubang, this city, for the development of the proposed City Government housing project; WHEREAS, in order to ensure the pursuance of such project, there is a need to acquire additional lot area for use as access road leading to the proposed City Government's Housing and Resettlement area, such that the Honorable City Mayor, by way of a letter, sought for authority to negotiate and purchase parcels of lands at Barangay Gubang particularly known as portion of Lot No. 4596-A, owned by Mr. Emeliano Balili, containing an area of 34,990 square meters and portion of Lot No. 2 (Before Lot No. 4599) owned by Mr. Roman Escalante, containing an area of 47,372 square meters, which lots are considered ideal area for access road to connect the resettlement area site of the city; WHEREAS, this body, given the importance and urgency of the foregoing concern, finds it necessary to clothe the City Chief Executive with the necessary legislative authority for the said purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to negotiate and purchase, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, parcels of land known as portion of Lot No. 4596-A, owned by Mr. Emeliano Balili, containing an area of 34,990 square meters and portion of Lot No. 2 (Before Lot No. 4599), owned by Mr. Roman Escalante, containing an area of 47,372 square meters, both situated at Barangay Gubang, this city, for use as access road leading to the City Government's Housing and Resettlement Project at Barangay Gubang, this city. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
