RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0344

"A RESOLUTION STRONGLY SUPPORTING RESOLUTION NO. 541-2023 OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR WHICH, IN GIST, REQUESTED THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (DOST) TO ESTABLISH A SATELLITE STATION OFFICE IN PAGADIAN CITY, IT BEING THE REGIONAL CENTER IN THE ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA REGION"

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Zamboanga del Sur, by way of Resolution No. 541-2023, requested the Honorable Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to favorably consider the establishment of a Satellite Station Office in the City of Pagadian-the designated Regional Center of the Zamboanga Peninsula Region, and copy of the same was forwarded to this august body for information and favorable consideration;

WHEREAS, this body, following the favorable recommendation of the Committee on Education, Science and technology and Accreditation of NGOs and Pos-to which the foregoing matter was initially referred for initial evaluation and consideration-deems it appropriate and in order to manifest strong support thereto, hence, this passage;

 NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ann Marjorie N. Revelo, be it
 RESOLVED to strongly support, as this body hereby strongly supports Resolution No. 541-2023 of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Zamboanga del Sur which, in gist, requested the Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to establish a Satellite Station Office in Pagadian City, it being the Regional Center in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be transmitted to His Honor, Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr., DOST, Main Building, Front, General Santos Avenue, Bicutan, Taguig; to the Honorable Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Zamboanga del Sur, through Honorable Vice Governor Roseller L. Ariosa, Provincial Government Center, Dao, Pagadian City, for information; and to the Honorable City Mayor, this city, for support and follow-up.
