RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0285 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (DICT) TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPRESENTATION WITH ALL TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES OPERATING IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN TO CONSTRUCT AND/OR INSTALL ADDITIONAL CELLULAR SITE TOWERS PARTICULARLY IN BARANGAY AREAS OF THE CITY WHICH HAVE INTERMITTENT OR NO NETWORK/SERVICE COVERAGE'' WHEREAS, it is thus a fact that, at present, some barangays, more particularly in the uppermost portion of the City have no available network/service coverage for mobile telephone while some areas are experiencing intermittent service coverage which, if left unattended, would be unfair and adverse to the residents living in the area as it hinders them from attaining and obtaining viable information through mobile telephone services; WHEREAS, consistent with the thrust and commitment of the national government to provide better communication services, there is thus a need to seek the intercession from the national government particularly the Department of Information and Technology (DICT) with the different telecommunication companies to invest for the establishment and/or installation of additional cellular site towers in areas of the city which have intermittent or no network/service coverage; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to make the necessary representation with all Telecommunications Companies operating in the City of Pagadian to construct and/or install additional cellular site towers particularly in barangay areas of the city which have intermittent or no network/service coverage. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, Secretary Ivan John Uy, Chief, DICT, C.P. Garcia Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, for information and favorable consideration; to Regional Director Ma. Teresa M. Camba, DICT Bldg., Corcuerra Ext., Port Area, Zamboanga City; to Lt Gen. Roy M. Galido, AFP, Commanding General, Western Mindanao Command, Calarian, Zamboanga City; and to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for support and follow-up. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
