RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0267 (Sponsor: Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ACCEPT AND CONFIRM THE LETTER OF AGREEMENT (LOA) TO BE ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN AND THE PHILIPPINE RICE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (PRRI), WITH REFERENCE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, NAMELY: (1) DISTRIBUTION OF CERTIFIED SEEDS (CS) AND INBRED RICE VARIETIES AND COMPLEMENTARY IEC MATERIALS, AND CONDUCT OF TECHNICAL BRIEFING; (2) PALAYSIKATAN: THE RCEF TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION OF RECOMMENDED INBRED RICE VARIETIES AND MECHANIZED FARMING SYSTEM; AND (3) DEVELOPMENT OF FERTILIZER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROVINCES UNDER THE RCEF SEED PROGRAM" WHEREAS, in an effort to help improve the yield of rice farmers through the utilization of high-quality seeds while optimizing their production costs through appropriate crop management technologies and practices, the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PRRI) and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of the following programs for the benefit of the farmers of the city, namely: (1) Distribution of Certified Seeds (CS) and Inbred Rice Varieties and complementary IEC Materials, and conduct of technical briefing; (2) PalaySikatan: the RCEF Technology Demonstration of recommended Inbred Rice Varieties and Mechanized Farming System; and (3) Development of Fertilizer Recommendations for Provinces under the RCEF Seed Program; WHEREAS, to facilitate the early and successful implementation of the project there is that need to formalize such terms and conditions as well as the respective responsibilities of both parties through a Letter of Agreement, such that an authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor which request merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to accept and confirm the Letter of Agreement (LOA) to be entered into by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PRRI), with reference to the implementation of the following programs in the City of Pagadian, namely: (1) Distribution of Certified Seeds (CS) and Inbred Rice Varieties and complementary IEC Materials, and conduct of technical briefing; (2) PalaySikatan: the RCEF Technology Demonstration of recommended Inbred Rice Varieties and Mechanized Farming System; and (3) Development of Fertilizer Recommendations for Provinces under the RCEF Seed Program. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S.
