RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0250 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO EXTEND RELIEF GOODS TO THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL AND THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OZAMIZ--BOTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS DECLARED UNDER A STATE OF CALAMITY DUE TO HEAVY FLOODING AND LANDSLIDE BROUGHT ABOUT BY INTENSE RAINS FROM SHEAR LINE--TO HELP ADDRESS THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS AND ALLEVIATE THE PLIGHT OF THE VICTIMS" WHEREAS, just recently, several municipalities within the Province of Misamis Occidental including the City of Ozamiz have been greatly affected by widespread flooding and landslides due to intense rains from shear line resulting in the declaration of such Local Government Units under a state of calamity; WHEREAS, in understanding and sympathizing with the present predicament and situation of all the victims, the Honorable City Mayor, in line with the provision of Republic Act No. 8185, has initiated the extension of necessary assistance including relief goods to help address the immediate and more basic needs of the affected residents, thus an authority from this august body is being sought; WHEREAS, finding importance and urgency of the foregoing proposition, this body deems it cogently imperative, under the circumstance, to extend whatever assistance that could be made available to help alleviate the condition of the distraught victims; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to extend relief goods to the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental and the City Government of Ozamiz, as herein specified, to wit: LGU of Misamis Occidental - 100 sacks of rice (25 kls. per sack) - 100 boxes of noodles LGU of Ozamiz City - 100 sacks of rice (25 kls. per sack) RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, the City Budget Officer, the City Accountant, the City Treasurer, and the City Auditor, all of this City, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
