RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0220 (Sponsor: Committee on Ecology) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER AND SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT (MOPA), WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES (DENR)-REGIONAL OFFICE IX, FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF ALL FORESHORE AREAS WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF PAGADIAN CITY" WHEREAS, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office, by way of a letter dated 10 October 2022, presented a copy of a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA) to be entered into by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the DENR-Regional Office 9 purposely for the implementation of the Zamboanga del Sur Foreshore Management and Development Plan in the city with the end-in-view of providing efficient foreshore related services; WHEREAS, the body, in consideration of the favorable recommendation of the concerned Committee, to which the matter was initially referred for study, finds such agreement beneficial and advantageous as it will help facilitate the development of the undeveloped foreshore areas of the city to become productive as well as economically and ecologically sound ecosystem, thus, authorizing the City Chief Executive to enter and sign such deed on behalf of the City Government is most appropriate and in order; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesuseller M. Duterte, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter and sign, for and in behalf of the City Government, into a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA), with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), for the management of all foreshore areas within the territorial jurisdiction of Pagadian City. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for favorable consideration; and to the DENR-Regional Office IX, through Mr. Ronald D. Gadot, OIC-Office of the Regional Executive Director and OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, President Corazon C. Aquino Regional Government Center, Barangay Balintawak, this city, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
