RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1682 (Sponsored By: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH ILDEFONSO-GAMALINDA MEMORIAL HOMES, WITH REGARD TO STRENGTHENING SOCIAL SERVICES THROUGH THE CITY SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (CSWDO), BY PROVIDING MODEST BURIAL SERVICES TO DESERVING INDIGENT PAGADIANONS, SUBJECT TO PROPER GOVERNMENT AUDITING RULES AND PROCEDURES" WHEREAS, the City Government, in an effort to strengthen its Social Service component through CSWD by providing modest burial assistance to deserving indigent members of society has signified its willingness to bear the expenses incurred by qualified beneficiaries by tying-up with any capable memorial establishment who can cater such determination; WHEREAS, in view thereof, the Honorable City Mayor and the Ildefonso-Gamalinda Memorial Homes which has been found to be most qualified to provide the service, have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of the foregoing endeavor, for which the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement is most necessary where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, thus a request for legislative authority has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, upon careful perusal and evaluation, this body, finding importance and urgency of the foregoing, deems it imperatively necessary to clothe the Honorable City Mayor with the authority to represent the City Government in the formal forging of such deed; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Ildefonso-Gamalinda Memorial Homes, for the strengthening of social services through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), by providing modest burial services to deserving indigent Pagadianons, subject to proper government auditing rules and procedures. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable action; to the City Legal Officer and the Ildefonso-Gamalinda Memorial Homes this city, for their information and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
