RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1573

"A RESOLUTION REQUESTING POLICE COLONEL DIOMARIE S. ALBARICO, PROVINCIAL DIRECTOR-ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE, TO PROVIDE THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD, IN AID OF LEGISLATION, WITH A COPY OF THE DETAILED INCIDENT REPORT OF A GUNFIGHT ENCOUNTER BETWEEN THE ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR POLICE INTELLIGENCE UNIT AND FOUR (4) UNIDENTIFIED ARMED MEN LAST APRIL 19, 2022 AT THE MUNICIPALITY OF SOMINOT, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, WHERE A CERTAIN POLICE STAFF SERGEANT KHALID JADE DACULA HAS BEEN KILLED IN ACTION"
WHEREAS, initial report revealed that on or about 3:30 in the afternoon of 19 April 2022, a gunfight ensued between operatives of the Zamboanga del Sur Police Intelligence Unit and four (4) unidentified armed men who were riding in tandem at Barangay New Oroquita, Municipality of Sominot, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, which incident resulted in the instantaneous death of a police operative in the person of Police Staff Sergeant Khalid Jade Dacula;
WHEREAS, this body, concerned and alarmed over the possibility that the incident might proliferate or escalate which could further contribute to the volatility and/or instability of the present peace and order situation of the province due to the forthcoming synchronized national and local elections on May 9, 2022, deems it imperatively necessary to be apprised with the details of what had transpired during the armed encounter as well as the development of the investigation, if any, to help the City Government institute appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidence, hence, this request;
NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Gagampang, be it
RESOLVED to request, as it is hereby requested Police Colonel Diomarie S. Albarico, Provincial Director-Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, to provide the Sangguniang Panlungsod, in aid of legislation, with a copy of the detailed incident report of a gunfight encounter between the Zamboanga del Sur Police Intelligence Unit and four (4) unidentified armed men last April 19, 2022 at the Municipality of Sominot, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, where a certain Police Staff Sergeant Khalid Jade Dacula has been killed in action.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to PCOL Diomarie S. Albarico, Police Provincial Director-Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, Camp Abelon, Barangay Lumbia, this city, for his information and immediate favorable consideration.
