RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1571 (Sponsor: Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT OFFICER, IN COORDINATION WITH THE RESPECTIVE BARANGAY OFFICIALS, TO CONDUCT AN INVENTORY OF LOCAL RESIDENTS LIVING IN LANDSLIDE PRONE AREAS AND, IF NECESSARY, COME UP WITH AN APPROPRIATE RECOMMENDATION TO ENSURE THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY" WHEREAS, the recent typhoon Agaton which triggered floods and landslides in some parts of the country have resulted in the loss of more than a hundred lives, caused injuries and damage to properties aside from rendering thousands of families homeless; WHEREAS, while such unfortunate event has no serious impact to the City of Pagadian, however, it cannot be gainsaid that the city is not exempted from any future fortuitous event, such that it is thus necessary to institute appropriate preemptive measures to mitigate, if not prevent, the impact of any possible calamities that may occur in the city, hence, commissioning the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer to initiate the conduct of an inventory of local residents living in landslide prone areas is most appropriate under the prevailing circumstances; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, to conduct an inventory, in coordination with the respective Barangay Officials, of residents living in landslide prone areas and come up with measures for possible relocation to safe areas. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, and to the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, all of this City, for his immediate favorable consideration and/or information and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
