RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1502 (Sponsor: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO EXTEND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND (P250,000.00) PESOS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO MS. JOMAKO KYLIE E. LUY--THE NEWLY CROWNED MISS TEEN UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2021 AND THE OFFICIAL CANDIDATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES TO THE MISS TEEN UNIVERSE 2022 PAGEANT WHICH WILL BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 27, 2022 UP TO MARCH 7, 2022 AT DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES--TO HELP DEFRAY THE EXPENSES INCIDENTAL TO HER PARTICIPATION" WHEREAS, information has it that Ms. Jomako Kylie E. Luy, a resident of Pagadian City, was crowned as Miss Teen Universe Philippines 2021 and will be competing as the official candidate of the Republic of Philippines to the Miss Teen Universe 2022 pageant come February 27, 2022 to March 7, 2022 at Dubai, United Arab Emirates; WHEREAS, the qualification and official entry of Ms. Luy to the Miss Teen Universe 2022 pageant, being one among the most prestigious international beauty contests, although a personal achievement, brings honor and pride not only to her immediate family but also to the City of Pagadian-her place of residence-which she has bannered in her participation; WHEREAS, knowing the financial requirements attached to her participation such as, but not limited to, the series of activities and functions she will be compulsorily attending to, this body finds it reasonable for the City Government to extend a financial assistance of P250,000.00 to help defray the expenses incidental to her participation; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to extend Two Hundred Fifty Thousand (P250,000.00) Pesos financial assistance to Ms. Jomako Kylie E. Luy--the newly crowned Miss Teen Universe Philippines 2021 and the official candidate of the Republic of the Philippines to the Miss Teen Universe 2022 Pageant which will be held on February 27, 2022 up to March 7, 2022 at Dubai, United Arab Emirates--to help defray the expenses incidental to her participation. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for information and favorable consideration; the City Budget Officer, the City Accountant, the City Treasurer, the City Auditor, and Ms. Jomako Kylie E. Luy, for their information and guidance.
