RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1432

"A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE FOR THE RENEWAL OF LOCAL BUSINESS PERMITS FROM JANUARY 20, 2022 TO FEBRUARY 20, 2022 AND, FOR THE PURPOSE, SHALL CONDONE SUCH PENALTIES AND OTHER CHARGES THAT WILL BE INCURRED DUE TO THE DELAYED OR LATE PAYMENT THEREOF"

WHEREAS, the Revised Revenue Code of 2017 of the City of Pagadian particularly Paragraph (e) of Section 3A.03 provides that the Mayor's/Business Permit shall be renewed within the first twenty (20) days of January; 

WHEREAS, in anticipation of the influx of large number of businesses that will be applying for renewal of business permits vis-a-vis the necessity to strictly implement the necessary public health and safety protocols to contain, if not prevent, the spread of COVID-19 cases in the city, and in in view of the request of the local businessmen, an extension of the deadline for the renewal of local business permit from January 20, 2022 to February 20, 2022 was sought;
WHEREAS, this body, finding urgency and importance of the foregoing request, deems it reasonable and practical to extend the deadline for the renewal of business permit, hence this passage; 
NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it
RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the extension of the deadline for the renewal of local business permits from January 20, 2022 to February 20, 2022 and, for the purpose, shall condone such penalties and other charges that will be incurred due to the delayed or late payment thereof. 

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information; to the City Treasurer, Mrs. Nona Grace E. Duran; the Chief-City Permits and Licensing Division, Office of the City Mayor; and the City Auditor, for their reference, guidance and/or appropriate action.
