RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0146 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., IN HIS CONCURRENT CAPACITY AS SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE, TO EXTEND TWENTY MILLION (P20,000,000.00) PESOS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN PURPOSELY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND UPGRADE OF THE PAGADIAN CITY SLAUGHTERHOUSE FACILITY" WHEREAS, sometime in 2003, the Pagadian City Slaughterhouse Facility was established and with the lapsed of time and its continued operation, the structure, its attendant facilities and equipment have become dilapidated so much that, as a result, its category was downgraded from Double "AA" to Locally Registered Meat Establishment classification; WHEREAS, much to the desire and interest of the City Government to institute the necessary repair and rehabilitation works--taking into account the increasing demand for quality meat due to the growing population of the city which could be attributed to it being the Regional Government Center of Western Mindanao and for being recognized as one of the most progressive cities in Mindanao--the local finances it could allocate and provide is only a meager amount so as not to sacrifice the delivery of other basic and essential services to the city's constituencies; WHEREAS, given the city's limited financial resources and considering the need to repair and rehabilitate the facility is very paramount, it is but imperatively necessary to seek fund support from the President of the Republic of the Philippines in his concurrent capacity as the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture; WHEREAS, to ensure the successful pursuance of the much-needed repair of the facility, the City Government signifies its willingness to provide Fifty Percent (50%) counterpart funding of the total fund requirement, if needed; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., in his concurrent capacity as Secretary of Agriculture, to extend Twenty Million (P20,000,000.00) Pesos financial assistance to the City Government of Pagadian purposely for the improvement and upgrade of the Pagadian City Slaughterhouse Facility. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution forwarded to His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., concurrently Secretary of Agriculture, for his favorable consideration; to Regional Director Dennis Apria, Department of Agriculture-Regional Office IX, this city, for support and favorable endorsement; and to the Honorable City Mayor, for support and follow-up.
