RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0126 (Sponsor: Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa) "A RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY DECLARING MAJOR GENERAL MELQUIADES L. FELICIANO, PA (RET.), DEPUTY CHIEF IMPLEMENTER--NATIONAL INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF EMERGING INFECTIOUS DISEASES (IATF-EID) FOR VISAYAS, AS ADOPTED SON OF THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, Major General Melquiades L. Feliciano, PA (Ret.), aside from having imprinted a name for himself in the annals of public service for being an outstanding officer of the Philippine Army-Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and during his stint as Deputy Chief Implementer of the National Inter-Agency Task Force for Visayas, has immensely helped the City Government of Pagadian in its fight against the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19); WHEREAS, among the remarkable and extraordinary measures he introduced which have evidently contributed to the containment and/or control of the further spread of COVID-19 cases in the city is the operationalization of the Pagadian City Emergency Operation Center as well as the Pagadian COVID-19 Clinic aside from his steadfast intercession with the national government for the extension of all necessary medical support to help address the COVID-19; WHEREAS, such gestures exhibited by Major General Melquiades L. Feliciano, PA (Ret.) are indicative of his earnest efforts and all-out support to the people of Pagadian and bespeaks of his personal zeal to extend the services of the government where such are most needed; WHEREAS, the entire populace of Pagadian City humbly acknowledges with gratefulness this auspicious deed of Major General Melquiades L. Feliciano such that it is only fitting to accord him the privilege of becoming its "Adopted Son;" NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa, be it RESOLVED to officially declare, as this body hereby officially declares Major General Melquiades L. Feliciano, PA (Ret.), Deputy Chief Implementer--National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) for Visayas, as Adopted Son of the City of Pagadian; RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Major General Melquiades L. Feliciano, PA (Ret.), through His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for information, guidance and reference. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY. I HEREBY CERTIFY to the correctness of the foregoing resolution.
