RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0105 (Co - Sponsors: Committee on Finance and Appropriations and Committee on Laws, Rules and Policy Formulation) "A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON FINANCE & APPROPRIATIONS AND COMMITTEE ON LAWS, RULES AND POLICY FORMULATION, AS ENUNCIATED IN ITS JOINT COMMITTEE REPORT NO. 022" WHEREAS, presented before this body was Joint Committee Report No. 022 from the Committee on Finance and Appropriations and Committee on Laws, Rules & Policy Formulation pertaining to the endorsed letter from Ms. Nona Grace E. Duran, City Treasurer, on the need to revise the 2017 Local Revenue Code of Pagadian City with a notification to the SP Committee on Finance and Appropriations to urgently consider the matter to avoid adverse effect on the financial condition of the city; WHEREAS, while Section 191 of Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as "the Local Government Code of 1991," provides that Local Government Units shall have the authority to adjust the tax rates as prescribed herein not oftener than once every five (5) years, but in no case shall such adjustment exceed Ten Percent (10%) if the rates fixes under this Code, however, the Joint Committee finds it necessary to have a comparative report pertaining to the revision as well as gather pertinent data to support the proposed revision of the 2017 Local Revenue Code of Pagadian City; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ma. Alicia Elena V. Ariosa, be it RESOLVED to adopt, as this body hereby adopts the findings and recommendations of the Joint Committee on Finance & Appropriations and Committee on Laws, Rules and Policy Formulation, as enunciated in its Joint Committee Report No. 022, to wit: The City Treasurer shall submit/present the comparative report on the Revenue Code of Pagadian City for purposes of further study intended for its revision and in aid of appropriate legislation; and To gather pertinent data that shall support the next step in the revision of the 2017 Local Revenue Code of Pagadian City for its comprehensive approach for the general welfare. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished the City Treasurer; the City Assessor; and all other concerned offices, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
