A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO PRIORITIZE THE REHABILITATION OF THE CITY PUBLIC CEMETERY, SITUATED AT BARANGAY TUBURAN, THIS CITY, AND IF WARRANTED, PROVIDE AND/OR ALLOCATE AN APPROPRIATE AND ADEQUATE AREA TO BE UTILIZED AND DEVELOPED AS THE NEW PUBLIC CEMETERY, WITH A FURTHER REQUEST TO REVISIT EXISTING LOCAL ORDINANCES, IF THERE ARE ANY, FOR PROPER IMPLEMENTATION IN PREPARATION OF THE CITY'S DESIRE TO BECOME HIGHLY URBANIZED

RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0077

"A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO PRIORITIZE THE REHABILITATION OF THE CITY PUBLIC CEMETERY, SITUATED AT BARANGAY TUBURAN, THIS CITY, AND IF WARRANTED, PROVIDE AND/OR ALLOCATE AN APPROPRIATE AND ADEQUATE AREA TO BE UTILIZED AND DEVELOPED AS THE NEW PUBLIC CEMETERY, WITH A FURTHER REQUEST TO REVISIT EXISTING LOCAL ORDINANCES, IF THERE ARE ANY, FOR PROPER IMPLEMENTATION IN PREPARATION OF THE CITY'S DESIRE TO BECOME HIGHLY URBANIZED" 
WHEREAS, this Sangguniang Panlungsod is deeply concerned of the congestion, disorganized, and lamentable state of the city's public cemetery at Barangay Tuburan, this city, where the passageways and alleys are no longer visible aside from the obvious dilemma that it can no longer accommodate additional burials;

WHEREAS, given such deplorable conditions and, in consideration of the importance of such public facility and urgency of the predicament persisting thereat, this body finds the necessity to request for immediate action particularly in the rehabilitation of the same to improve, arrange, and decongest the city public cemetery and--if warranted, provide and/or allocate an appropriate and adequate area to be used as site for a new public cemetery; 

NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ariel J. Lim, Jr., be it 

RESOLVED to recommend, as this body hereby recommends to the Honorable City Mayor to prioritize the rehabilitation of the City Public Cemetery, situated at Barangay Tuburan, this city, and if warranted, provide and/or allocate an appropriate and adequate area to be utilized and developed as the new public cemetery.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to request the Honorable City Mayor to revisit existing local ordinances, if there are any, for proper implementation in preparation of the city's desire to become highly urbanized.
RESOLVED, FINALLY, to let a copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action; and to all other offices concerned, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
