RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0028 (Sponsor: Honorable Ma. Alicia Elena V. Ariosa) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO CONVENE THE CITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (CDC) PURPOSELY TO DISCUSS AND HARMONIZE EVERY POSITION/STAND CONCERNING THE CONVERSION OF THE CITY OF PAGADIAN INTO A HIGHLY-URBANIZED CITY WITH THE END IN VIEW OF COMING UP WITH A UNIFIED STAND THERETO" WHEREAS, consistent with the provisions of the Local Government Code, Pagadian City has met the minimum requirements to become a highly-urbanized city, for which then President Rodrigo R. Duterte, on 08 November 2021, issued Proclamation No. 1247 which converted Pagadian City into a highly-urbanized city; WHEREAS, notwithstanding such proclamation, it is now the contention of some members of the body that several areas of development need to be revisited so as to address certain issues and concerns, most especially on health, infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, education, social services and many more to ensure the city's readiness to adopt highly urbanization; WHEREAS, given the foregoing, it is cogently necessary to immediately convene the Pagadian City Development Council purposely to have an all-inclusive deliberation on the different issues surrounding the matter for the best interest of the general public, hence, this request; NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Honorable Ma. Alicia Elena V. Ariosa, duly seconded en masse, it was RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Honorable City Mayor to convene the City Development Council (CDC) purposely to discuss and harmonize every position/stand concerning the conversion of the City of Pagadian into a highly-urbanized city with the end in view of coming up with a unified stand thereto. RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
