RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0023 (Sponsor: Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas) "A RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO EXPEDITE AND/OR FAST TRACK THE CONSTRUCTION AND FABRICATION OF ADDITIONAL DOG POUND IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, with the information that the City Government has only one (1) existing dog pound which, accordingly, can cater only up to sixty (60) stray dogs, the concern of some members of the 14th City Council over the rising number of unregistered stray dogs roaming around the city cannot be understated causing this body to be alarmed for it endangers and exposes the city residents to the deadly disease of rabies; WHEREAS, to address the foregoing predicament and, to ensure the safety and protection of the general public as mandated under Sub-Paragraph (viii), Paragraph (4) of Section 458 of the Local Government Code of 1991, there is thus a need for the City Government to initiate appropriate measure to prevent, if not minimize, stray, unwanted, unregistered and unvaccinated dogs from roaming around the city as well as promote responsible pet ownership; WHEREAS, premises considered, it is cogently necessary to commission the City Engineer to expedite and/or fast track the construction and fabrication of an additional dog pound in the City of Pagadian; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Patrisha Kaye N. Asugas, be it RESOLVED as it is hereby resolved to respectfully request Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to direct the City Engineer to expedite and/or fast track the construction and fabrication of additional dog pound in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his favorable consideration; and to Engr. Gerry D.
