RESOLUTION NO. 2022-0005 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTION OF MAJOR GENERAL GENEROSO M. PONIO, COMMANDING GENERAL, FIRST INFANTRY "TABAK" DIVISION, PHILIPPINE ARMY, IN THE MAINTENANCE OF THE PEACE AND ORDER OF THE CITY OF PAGADIAN AND COMMENDING HIM FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE" WHEREAS, on 08 July 2022, Major General Generoso M. Ponio, Commanding General of the First Infantry "Tabak" Division, Philippine Army, has recently retired from the military service upon reaching the mandatory age of retirement and as such, a Change of Command has been held at Camp Major Cesar Sang-an, Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur; WHEREAS, during his tour of duty, Major General Ponio, through his outstanding leadership and dedicated service, had been instrumental in the dismantling of two (2) units of the New People's Army (NPA) operating in the province of Zamboanga del Sur which have greatly contributed to the realization of the long desire of the people of Pagadian City for lasting peace along with the distinguished accomplishments and achievements he had attained while performing different positions in the military service; WHEREAS, the brand of leadership and dedication to the service he exemplified during his incumbency is significantly evidenced by the relatively peaceful atmosphere currently experienced in the city leading to a very remarkable decrease in the local crime rate; WHEREAS, at this point in time, this body deems it most appropriate to convey, in behalf of the people of Pagadian, grateful appreciation and sincere acknowledgement to Major General Generoso M. Ponio for the job well done; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to recognize, as this body recognizes the invaluable contribution of Major General Generoso M. Ponio, Commanding General, First Infantry "Tabak" Division, Philippine Army, in the maintenance of the peace and order of the City of Pagadian and commending him for his outstanding leadership and service. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Major General Generoso M. Ponio, Philippine Army (Ret.), for information. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
