RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1403 (Sponsor: Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT DIVISION-OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR TO DESIGNATE AND ASSIGN TRAFFIC ENFORCERS IN THE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS DURING THE SCHEDULED OPENING OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S "PASKUHAN 2021" CELEBRATION ON DECEMBER 15, 2021" WHEREAS, in line with the scheduled opening of the City Government's annual celebration of the Christmas Season dubbed as "Paskuhan 2021," on 15 December 2021, the members of the 13th City Council expressed concern on the heavy vehicular traffic along the roads leading to the Plaza Luz due to the influx of spectators, guests and visitors in the area, but more so, on incidents of carnapping involving parked vehicles of guests and viewers which occurrences, if left unattended, may place the city in a bad light; WHEREAS, given such predicament, it is now the consensus of this august body to institute necessary proactive measures to ensure smooth traffic flow of vehicles as well as ascertain the safety and security of all guests and visitors including their vehicles; WHEREAS, to effectively pursue the foregoing endeavor, there is a need to commission the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Office of the City Mayor to immediately deploy and assign traffic enforcers in the designated parking areas during the scheduled opening of the city's "Paskuhan 2021" come December 15, 2021 to properly manage the flow of traffic as well as preempt incidents of carnapping; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the Traffic Enforcement Division-Office of the City Mayor to designate and assign traffic enforcers in the designated parking areas during the scheduled opening of the City Government's "Paskuhan 2021" celebration on December 15, 2021. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action; and the Chief, City Traffic Enforcement Division, Office of the City Mayor, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
