RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1217 (Sponsored by: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING HONORABLE VICTOR J. YU, GOVERNOR-PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPRESENTATION WITH THE NATIONAL INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF EMERGING INFECTIOUS DISEASES (NIATF-EID), FOR THE RECLASSIFICATION OF THE QUARANTINE STATUS OF THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR FROM GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE WITH HEIGHTENED RESTRICTION TO GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE OR MODIFIED GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE IN VIEW OF THE DECREASING NUMBER OF COVID-19 CASES" WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian expressed concern on the negative effect of the present community quarantine classification of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur to the City's economy considering the fact that several local residents have lost their livelihood due to the negative impact brought to the various businesses particularly those micro, small and medium businesses that were compelled to close for lack of profit; WHEREAS, currently, data from the Pagadian City Emergency Operation Center on COVID-19 cases in the city would show a significant decline, such that there is a need for the reevaluation and reclassification of the present community quarantine status of the entire province of Zamboanga del Sur, thus requesting the Honorable Governor to make the necessary representation with the NIATF-EID for the purpose is most proper and in order; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested Honorable Victor J. Yu, Governor-Province of Zamboanga del Sur, to make the necessary representation with the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (NIATF-EID) for the reclassification of the quarantine status of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur from General Community Quarantine with Heightened Restrictions to General Community Quarantine or Modified General Community Quarantine in view of the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, Governor Victor J. Yu, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, Capitol Compound, Santo Nino District, this City, for his information and favorable consideration; to the Honorable City Mayor and the Pagadian City Emergency Operation Center (EOC), for support and follow-up.
