RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1134 (Sponsor: Honorable Arnold R.Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION URGING THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PAGADIAN CITY WATER DISTRICT (PCWD) TO ESTABLISH AND INSTALL NECESSARY SIGNAGES AND WARNING DEVICES TO CAUTION MOTORISTS OF THE ON-GOING ROAD EXCAVATIONS PURPOSELY TO PREVENT THE OCCURRENCE OF ACCIDENTS" WHEREAS, it has been the observation of this august body that several road excavation projects has been undertaken by the Pagadian City Water District along the national highway and other major thoroughfares of the city which, accordingly, poses threat and hazard to the lives and safety of the motoring public; WHEREAS, information has it that accidents are occurring in the excavation sites which can be attributed to the insufficiency or the absence of appropriate precautionary measures on the part of the Pagadian City Water District to particularly warn and caution motorists of the on-going works; WHEREAS, in view of this, the body finds it most pressing to advise the management of PCWD to provide and install directional signs and/or warning devices in these areas to alert and warn motorists of the on-going situation; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to urge, as this body hereby urges the management of the Pagadian City Water District (PCWD) to establish and install necessary signages and warning devices to caution motorists of the on-going road excavations purposely to prevent the occurrence of accidents. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Engr. Pericles C. Sollano, General Manager, Pagadian City Water District, for information and immediate favorable action; and to the Honorable City Mayor, for information, support and follow-up. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
