RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1118 (Sponsor: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S HOSTING OF THE MINDANAO LEG PILIPINAS VISMIN SUPER CUP-A PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT-FROM 15 JUNE 2021 UP TO 10 JULY 2021 AT THE COVERED COURT OF THE CITY PLAZA AND, AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ALLOCATE AND UTILIZE APPROPRIATE FUNDS, OUT OF ANY AVAILABLE FUND SOURCES, TO DEFRAY THE EXPENDITURES IN CONNECTION WITH THE HOSTING OF THE ACTIVITY SUBJECT, HOWEVER, TO THE STRICT COMPLIANCE AND ADHERENCE TO SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTOCOLS AS HEREIN SPECIFIED" WHEREAS, the Honorable City Mayor, in a letter, expressed his desire to host the Mindanao Leg Pilipinas Super Cup, a professional basketball tournament, in the City of Pagadian which is scheduled from 15 June 2021 to 10 July 2021 as one of the highlights of the forthcoming celebration of the "52nd Araw ng Pagadian" come June 21, 2021; WHEREAS, along this intention, it is thus necessary to authorize the City Chief Executive to allocate and utilize appropriate funds, out of any available fund sources of the City Government, purposely to help defray the projected incidental expenditures for the hosting of the said activity; WHEREAS, upon careful perusal and evaluation, this body, having been convinced of the urgency and relevance of the foregoing concern, deems it prim and proper to approve the request provided, however, that the established safety and health protocols against COVID-19 are strictly adhered and complied with; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the City Government's hosting of the Mindanao Leg Pilipinas Vismin Super Cup-a professional basketball tournament-from 15 June 2021 up to 10 July 2021 at the Covered Court of the City Plaza subject, however, to the strict compliance and adherence to the following safety and health protocols, viz: All participating teams shall be required to submit the negative RT-PCR results conducted not later than five (5) days for all their players including their respective managerial and coaching staff; All participating teams shall be billeted/accommodated in at least three (3) to four (4) hotels with no guests allowed; The players and officials of all participating teams shall not be allowed to go out from their assigned hotel other than going to the games' venue and back to the hotel; There shall be assigned security from the Philippine National Police and the City Security personnel in every designated/assigned hotel to ensure the safety and security of the players and officials of all participating teams; The Pagadian City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) shall assign personnel to strictly monitor compliance to the established public health measures; Every participating team will be provided with transportation (bus/coaster) to ferry the players and officials from the hotel to the venue and vice versa; and There shall be strictly no public audience allowed during every game except those identified tournament officials only. RESOLVED FURTHER, to authorize the Honorable City Mayor to allocate and utilize appropriate funds, out of any available fund sources of the City Government, to defray the expenditures in connection with the hosting of the activity. RESOLVED, FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information, guidance and/or appropriate action; APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
