RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1111 (Sponsor: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY TO HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT (DOLE)-REGIONAL OFFICE IX FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (GIP) IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, for the purpose of providing opportunities and engage young workers to serve the general public in government agencies/entities at the national and local level, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Regional Office IX and the City Government of Pagadian have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of the Government Internship Program (GIP) in the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of the foregoing program, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Understanding by and between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the City Government of Pagadian is necessary where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, for which a request for authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor--which request, merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to grant, as this body hereby grants authority to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office IX for the implementation of the Government Internship Program (GIP) in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and appropriate action; to the City Legal Officer; and to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Regional Director, Atty. Roy L.
