RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1098 (Sponsor: Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa) "A RESOLUTION URGING ALL OPERATORS AND/OR DRIVERS OF MOTORIZED TRICYCLE-FOR-HIRE IN THE CITY TO IMMEDIATELY INSTALL AND/OR SET UP PLASTIC BARRIER IN THEIR RESPECTIVE MOTORIZED TRICYCLES NOT LATER THAN MAY 20, 2021, IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ESTABLISHED PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES TO MINIMIZE, IF NOT PREVENT, THE SPREAD OF THE CORONA VIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19) IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, alarmed and concerned over the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the city, the City Government is now vigorously and forcefully implementing appropriate public health measures/protocols to contain, if not abate, such dreaded disease; WHEREAS, currently, the observation that motorized tricycles-for-hire operating in the city were no longer installing the required plastic barrier for their passengers which, if tolerated and allowed to continue, will accelerate the spread of the virus, such that this body finds it prim and proper to urgently require all motorized tricycle-for-hire operators and drivers to strictly adhere and comply with the public health requirement of having a plastic barrier in their respective motorized tricycle-for-hire for the safety and protection of both the drivers and the passengers; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa, be it RESOLVED to urge, as this body hereby urges all operators and/or drivers of motorized tricycle-for-hire in the city to immediately install and/or set up plastic barrier in their respective motorized tricycles not later than May 20, 2021, in compliance with the established public health measures to minimize, if not prevent, the spread of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information; to the Head - Road Traffic Management Division, Office of the City Mayor; and the Pagadian City Police Station through the Chief of the Traffic Enforcement Section, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
